No offence to Navy guys but during WWII, there was a quote about
tradition that was wrongly attributed to Sir Winston Churchill. The
quote was:
"Dont talk to me about naval tradition. Its nothing but rum,
sodomy and the lash."
The quote was actually made by Churchill's assistant, Anthony
Montague-Browne. But on hearing it, Churchill admitted that he'd
wished he'd been the one to say it. Funny thing to hear from a
former Navy man.
